Anton Colella, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
Anton Colella became Chief Executive of ICAS in October 2006. Previously he was the Chief Executive of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), from December 2003 to October 2006, following a period as Director of Qualifications. He was elected Chair of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) in November 2011. The GAA has around one million members in 165 countries, and represents a collection of leading institutes from around the world. Anton became an Honorary Professor of Education at the University of Glasgow in 2012 and has been a member of the University’s Adam Smith Business School Advisory Board since 2011. He received an honorary Doctorate from BPP University in 2014. Anton is a Trustee of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), Columba 1400, an award winning social enterprise and charity to help young people realise their potential, a Trustee of the Scottish International Education Trust (SIET) which offers financial assistance to individuals for further education and training and is Chairman of the Executive Board of the Scottish Catholic Education Service. A graduate of the University of Stirling, Anton’s career began as a teacher of Religious Education. Before joining the SQA he was Depute Head Teacher at St Margaret Mary’s Secondary School in Glasgow. Anton lives in Glasgow and his main interests are his family, rugby, eating out and spending time in the Highlands of Scotland.
Brian MacNeice, Kotinos Partners
Brian is an expert in organisational performance and high performing teams. He advises leading Irish and international clients on driving improvements in the performance focus and culture of their businesses. Brian has led numerous assignments with clients in a diverse range of industry sectors and he also acts as a performance coach to a number of senior executives across the Kotinos Partners’ client base. He was previously founding Director of Genesis Ireland and led many of Genesis’ engagements with business clients and leading sports organizations. Brian’s research into high performance has taken him all over the world to study what the best institutions in the world have in common and includes Barcelona FC, New Zealand All Blacks, IMG Academy, The Kirov Ballet, The Curtis Institute of Music, Elite Armed Forces, Google, Grameen Bank, The Mayo Clinic, The Finnish Education System, Médecins sans Frontières, the Fire Department New York and many others. He has just published a book, featuring much of this research Powerhouse: Insider accounts into the world’s top high-performance organisations. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Applications from DCU, a Diploma in International Marketing and an International MBA. He is an IRFU National Panel referee officiating in Ireland and Europe, a selector for the Irish National Cricket team, a sports administrator and an underage coach in both rugby and cricket. He lives in Dublin and is married to Miriam and has three children (Charlie, Jack & Dan).
Dr Mary Shire, University of Limerick
Vice President of Research
Dr Mary Shire holds the position of Vice President for Research at the University of Limerick (UL) since 2011 and is responsible for the leadership, development and delivery of the University’s research policy, strategy, support services, industry engagement and commercialisation activities. Prior to this she held the role of Director of Research Support Services at UL responsible for research funding and research metrics. Prior to joining UL Dr Shire spent 11 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry where she held senior management roles in a number of multinational pharmaceutical companies. While working with leading US-based pharmaceutical company, Celgene Corporation, Dr Shire developed inventions covered by 20 US patents for drug discovery. A number of these compounds are on the market in the US and Europe. Dr Shire holds a PhD in Chemistry and an MBA. Dr Shire is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and holds Director positions of a number of companies and not for profit organisations.
Michael Hanley, Lakeland Dairies
Group Chief Executive
Michael Hanley is Group Chief Executive of Lakeland Dairies. A highly experienced dairy industry figure, he has held various senior management positions with Lakeland Dairies since its formation in 1990, including deputy chief executive, general manager of Northern Ireland operations, general manager of dairy operations and manager of member relations. Mr. Hanley is originally from a farming background and is an Agricultural Science graduate of University College Dublin. He was a member of the Dairy Expansion Activation Group established to progress the findings of the Food Harvest 2020 report. He is Chairman of Cavan County Enterprise Board. Lakeland Dairies is a major dairy processing co-operative. Lakeland markets a wide range of value added dairy foodservice products and dairy food ingredients offering some 170 branded dairy products in over 70 countries worldwide. Lakeland Dairies is the dairy foodservice market leader both in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Lakeland Dairies sources its high quality milk supply from dairy farms across fifteen counties on a cross border basis in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland, processing over 700 million litres of milk annually through its facilities. Lakeland Dairies reported revenues of €625.8 million and operating profit of €12.9 million for the year ended 31st December 2014.
Larry Murrin, Dawn Farms
Larry Murrin is Co-founder and Chief Executive of Dawn Farms. Established in 1985 the company employs over 1000 people across its three production plants in Ireland and in the UK. Recognised as a leader in the B2B supply of fully cooked and fermented meat ingredients and toppings, Dawn Farms specialises in the Foodservice and Food Manufacturing sectors and is a preferred partner to many of the world’s leading retail grocery and High Street brands in over 40 countries worldwide. Past President of IBEC, the employer federation group that represents all Irish businesses at home and internationally, Larry is passionate about the potential of the food industry in Ireland. He is an active contributor to industry and government on policy and strategy initiatives and was Chairman of Food and Drink Industry Ireland (FDII) for 12 years. Larry has also served on the Consumer Foods Board of Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board) since its inception. He has been appointed to numerous Ministerial committees established by the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine including the recently convened Food Harvest 2025 to update and recalibrate the ambitious strategic growth plan for the agri-food sector in Ireland. Larry is particularly proud of the company’s reputation for working in partnership with its customers and its focus on innovation and NPD. In 2008 Dawn Farms opened its Meat Science and Innovation Centre at its HQ in Naas, where today a 30 plus strong team of culinary experts, food scientists and technologists work hand in hand with customers to develop new and innovative food items. Dawn Farms is a founding member of Ireland’s Origin Green programme putting sustainability firmly at the heart of the Dawn Farms business model. Larry is also Chairman of his family business With Taste, one of the largest indigenous catering and foodservice companies in Leinster. With Taste employs 400 people and is headquartered in West Dublin. Larry lives in Clontarf, Dublin with his wife Nora and family.
Manuel Dominguez de la Maza, Mayoral Clothing Group
Manuel Domínguez de la Maza is the CEO of Mayoral Moda Infantil, a leading family owned childrenswear business based in Málaga, Spain. Manuel’s grandfather established the business, which now has an annual turnover of €350m, selling children’s clothing in Europe and the US. After a BA in Economics in the University of Málaga, he completed the IESE MBA program in Barcelona in 1991. His first full time job was in the Marketing Department of Pepsi Cola Spain in the early nineties. He joined the family business in 1993 as Export Manager, in 1999 he became Retail Manager and finally CEO in 2007.
Manuel began to leverage his family business experience in 2014 giving lectures about family business issues as a guest speaker and part time professor in San Telmo, the leading Business School of Southern Spain. He was recently invited to join the Advisory Board of the Family Business Center at Columbia Business School. In May 2016 he graduated from a Master of Science in Leadership in Columbia University in New York.
Enda O’Coineen, Kilcullen Kapital Partners

Enda O’Coineen is an Irish entrepreneur, adventurer, sportsman and author. He has taken incredible risks on the oceans and in business, describing them as “calculated — otherwise I would not be here”. In the process, he has developed an attitude, strategy and approach to risk which he is happy to share. Often seen as a “boring subject”, he has made the understanding and management of risk into an art form. Some of these risks took place on the ocean, such as Ireland’s first solo non-stop around the world entry last November in the Vendée Globe Challenge, regarded as the toughest sailing race in the world. He had qualified to take part by earlier winning a podium position in the Ocean Masters transatlantic race from the Caribbean to France. Other risks included the founding of the Czech and Slovak Credit Bureaus — key risk management enterprises as these countries transitioned from communism to free market economies after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He is a Partner and Founder of Kilcullen Kapital Partners, an investment management, finance, corporate and venture company with activities in the property, renewable energy, services, and manufacturing sectors. He has been in a number of business start-ups in Ireland and internationally in the telecommunications, recruitment, airline and publishing sectors. He has also been involved in a number of turnaround projects where companies have been successfully restructured. He played a key role in bringing the Volvo Ocean Race to Ireland and the Green Dragon Volvo Team — both of which generated over €100m for the Irish economy. He is also the founder and President of the Atlantic Youth Trust Charity, a body responsible for introducing thousands of young people to the oceans and adventure. He is currently involved in the development of a new all Island sail training vessel to replace the Asgard II and the Northern Ireland vessel, the Lord Rank. He is the author of four books, including the “Unsinkable Entrepreneur”, and a family man with three daughters and a son and a large extended family. Born in Galway, he is a graduate of NUI Galway in Business and Finance.
John Carey, U-First Coaching & Development
John is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and an accredited corporate coach with the European Coaching Institute. After several years operating in senior management roles, John established U-First Coaching in 2002 to focus on delivering a wide-range of cross-industry professional development courses and services. These services provide owners and managers with the skills needed to realise their maximum potential, while being cognizant of the role environments can have on human performance. Over the last 15 years, John’s influence on human performance has spanned sports and business. In the sports domain, John has delivered performance coaching to a number of elite athletes and teams, winning four World titles, six All-Ireland titles and 69 All-Star awards. While more recently in the business domain, John assisted an Irish medical devices start-up to develop their core offering, before being acquired by a $23 billion multinational 26 months after its initial launch.
Brian Cody, Kilkenny Senior Hurling
Born in Sheestown, County Kilkenny, Brian is an Irish hurling manager and former player, currently managing the Kilkenny senior inter-county team, where he has been in charge since 1999. During that time he has worked with various management teams, players and county board officials. In a challenging and continually evolving sporting world the responsibility for ensuring Kilkenny’s continued competitiveness has been and continues to be his focus. He is regarded as one of the greatest managers of the modern game. He is a retired primary school teacher and principal. As a player Brian enjoyed a successful career at club level with James Stephens and at inter-county level with Kilkenny. He established himself as a full-back with Kilkenny throughout the 1970s and 1980s and collected three All-Ireland titles, four Leinster titles and two National Hurling League titles. Brian previously coached in all grades at club level with James Stephens before making the leap to inter-county management in November 1998 when he was appointed manager of Kilkenny. Currently in his twelfth season with Kilkenny, Brian is the second-longest serving coach in their history after Fr. Tommy Maher,
while his tenure is the longest of all the current championship managers. During this time, Brian has guided Kilkenny to seven All-Ireland titles, ten Leinster titles and four National League titles. The team’s dominance of the Leinster Championship is unparalleled in the modern era.
Antonio Vazquez, International Airline Group
Mr. Antonio Vázquez Romero has been the Chief Executive Officer and President at Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana SA since 2009. He is Chairman of the International Consolidated Airlines Group Board and served as a Non Executive Director of International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. since 2010. Mr. Vázquez Romero has been an Independent Director of Telefónica Internacional since June 2008. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Altadis SA (Formerly Altadis Group) since 2005 and also served as its Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Cigar Division. From 1978
to 1993 he held different international positions in the Wine & Spirits Industry. He serves as a Member of the Board of Governors at International Air Transport Association (IATA). Mr. Vázquez Romero served as a Non Executive Director of Aldeasa, S.A. since September 27, 1997. He holds a BSc in Economics from Malaga University and his key areas of prior experience are consumer behaviour, sales and marketing, finance and governance.
Breege O’Donoghue, Penneys / Primark
Breege is currently Board Member & Group Director, Business Development & New Markets at Penneys / Primark. During her 35 year career, Breege has been directly involved in the transformation of the business from a small Irish retailer to an international fashion brand with annual sales of £4.95 billion – enjoying No. 1 volume market share in Ireland, UK, Spain and Portugal. Breege joined Penneys / Primark in 1979 as a HR executive, tasked with building the company’s HR department. In 1988, Breege was appointed to the Primark Board and is also a Trustee of the Primark Better Lives Foundation. In her role as Board member, Breege assisted in the Primark impressive growth trajectory, taking the company from 17 stores to 287, across 9 markets. Firmly established throughout Europe, Primark has more ambitious plans, setting its sights on the US market in which Breege is now instrumental in leading Primark’s entry into this market. Outside of her work at Primark, Breege has a busy schedule, which includes having held government appointed positions on the board of a number of state companies including An Post, Aer Rianta and also as Chairman of Shannon College of Hotel Management. She was a member of the Board of Governors of NUI in Maynooth, its Foundation, has been on the Advisory Council at DCU, served on UCD’s Presidents Committee, as well as the Disputes Resolution Committee and the HR Strategy Group. Breege is currently a Non-Executive
Director at C&C Group plc and also Chair of the Labour Relations Commission. Most recently, Breege was honoured with the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards ceremony and received the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year Business Award in 2011.
HE Dominic Chilcott, United Kingdom Government
British Ambassador to Ireland
The Ambassador represents Her Majesty The Queen and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services. Dominick Chilcott is a career diplomat who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office 30 years ago. He has served as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives (2006 to 2007), Deputy Ambassador to the United States (2008 to 2011), Ambassador to Iran (for six weeks only in late 2011 - the posting was ended by the attack on the embassy) and now as Ambassador to Ireland. In addition to those postings, Dominick has served in Ankara (1985-8), Lisbon (1993-5) and at the UK’s mission to the European Union in Brussels (1998-2002). Between overseas assignments, Dominick has worked in the FCO in London on European, African and Middle Eastern affairs. He has been a private secretary to two Foreign Secretaries, Sir Malcolm Rifkind and the late Mr Robin Cook. He was director of the Iran Policy Unit in 2003 and director for bilateral relations with European countries from 2003-6. Dominick is married to Jane and they have a daughter and three sons. They met at Oxford University where Dominick read philosophy and theology and Jane read English literature. Before Oxford, Dominick spent a year in the Royal Navy as a midshipman. He went to school at St Joseph’s College, Ipswich (de la Salle brothers). Dominick’s hobbies include walking, sport of all kinds, reading, history, music and the theatre.
Gabriel D’Arcy, LacPatrick Dairies
Gabriel D’Arcy is third oldest in a family of 10 from Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, and was educated at Garbally College, Ballinasloe. As part of his cadetship at Military College, he completed undergraduate studies at University College Galway graduating with a honours Bachelor of Science degree in 1981. He then served as a Cavalry Officer in the Defence Forces, which included two tours of duty with the UN in Lebanon and as an instructor in the Cavalry Military College. In 1989, D’Arcy joined the Kerry Group and was closely involved in the rapid expansion of Kerry’s Ingredients Division in Europe, becoming Commercial Director of that Division. In 2008, he was appointed as Chief Executive of Bord na Móna plc and was leading the transformation of this prestigious organisation to deliver its vision - A New Contract with Nature. Gabriel D’Arcy has been appointed CEO Designate of Town of Monaghan Co-op in November 2014 and became CEO of LacPatrick Dairies Ltd in June 2015. Mr D’Arcy is the current Midlands Gateway Ambassador and is a member of the Board of the Institute of Public Administration. He also holds an MSc from University College Dublin from 1988, and an MBA from Kinston University Business School, 1996. A keen sportsman, D’Arcy represented Leitrim at all levels in Gaelic Football and won Connacht Junior and Senior Schools Rugby Cup honours with Garbally. His leisure interests include coaching mini rugby at Terenure College RFC. He is married to Niamh and together with their four children lives in Terenure, Dublin
Dr James Sheehan, Blackrock Clinic, Galway Clinic, and Hermitage Clinic
James M Sheehan was born in Kerry in 1939, studied medicine in UCD, graduated in 1963, and was awarded Gold Medals in surgery, medicine and obstetrics. He subsequently trained as an orthopaedic surgeon, spending five years in the UK where he also studied mechanical engineering. He returned to Ireland as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon to St Vincent’s Hospital and Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital in 1970, and founded the joint replacement unit in Cappagh. His involvement in orthopaedics centred on joint replacement where he was involved in the design of artificial hip and knee joints. He
founded the Blackrock Clinic in 1984 and the Galway Clinic in 2004. He was CEO of the Galway Clinic from 2006 and is now Executive Director. Much of his life’s journey is recounted in his book “Life Close to the Bone - Musings of an Orthopaedic Surgeon”, published in 2013. He is a Fellow of the
Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and holds an MSc in bioengineering and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Surrey. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland, and of the Irish Academy of Engineering, and is a recipient of the President’s’ Award from the Institute of Consulting Engineers. Kieran Calnan, Bord Iascaigh Mhara
Kieran was appointed to the Board of BIM in June 2012. BIM is responsible for the development of the Irish Seafood Sector and ambitious targets are in place for the agency under the Government’s Food Harvest 2020 report. Mr. Calnan’s extensive business experience will be instrumental in driving the agency to achieve these targets. He was the former President of South Western Services (SWS) Limited, a highly successful company based in West Cork, that provides outsource business process services to a long and varied list of blue chip clients in the food and drink, media, banking, telecommunications, retail and energy sectors. Mr. Calnan was appointed to the position of Chief Executive of the SWS Group in 1996 following 25 years with the company in a number of positions including Business Development Manager and Manager of Forestry. As Chief Executive, Mr. Calnan oversaw the diversification of SWS from a single service provider (agricultural services) to a multi-service company which included Renewables, Business Process Outsourcing, Forestry and Business Services. The energy business was subsequently sold to Bord Gais in 2009 for a consideration in excess of €500 million. Mr. Calnan has also been responsible for driving job creation and revenue to the West Cork region through the development of a state of the art Business and Technology Park culminating in over 1,000 people employed on the site. He is currently a member of the Advisory Committee of the UCC
‘Ignite’ programme, an initiative that aims to promote entrepreneurship in the Munster region . He
also played an active role in promoting the award winning West Cork Fuschia brand (aimed at
marketing quality products including seafood from the West Corkarea) during its formative years.
Eamonn Sinnott, Intel Ireland
Eamonn Sinnott is Vice President, Technology and Manufacturing Group at Intel Corporation and the General Manager of Intel in Ireland. Eamonn joined Intel in 1991 and has held a variety of management positions in Ireland and in the USA. Eamonn became the manager for the 300mm start-up/ramp of Fab24 in 2001 before taking over as the general manager in 2006, successfully ramping the 65nm process technology. He was instrumental in securing the record $5 billion upgrade to the Leixlip campus in preparation for running Intels’ leading edge process technologies and products. Prior to joining Intel, Eamonn worked as an engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation and as a manufacturing manager at Nuvotem. Eamonn received an MBA from University College Dublin in 2000 and a bachelor’s in Science from University of Dublin, Trinity College in 1986. He is a board member of the Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices (CRANN), Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He is the President of the board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland and is a Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineering.
Anne Heraty, CPL Resouces
Anne Heraty is ceo of CPL Resourses (recruitment firm), which she co-founded in 1989. She was the first female CEO of a listed irish company. In 2006 she won Ernst and Young Businesswoman of the Year Award. Originally from Co Longford, Heraty holds a degree in Maths and Economics from UCD. She started her career in telesales at Xerox and then moved to Grafton Recruitment before setting up her own company. Anne Heraty runs CPL with her husband Paul Carroll.
Kevin Toland, Dublin Airport Authority
Prior to joining the DAA in 2013, Kenny was Chief Executive and President of Glanbia USA & Global Nutritionals, based in Chicago, Illinois. Previous roles at Glanbia, which he joined in 1999, included Group Development Director, Chief Executive of Consumer Foods and Director of Strategy and
Marketing. He also joins the board of Total Produce plc in July 2015, where he will use his direct knowledge of North America to assist them as they continue to expand their business. Before joining Glanbia, he held a number of senior management positions with Coca Cola Bottlers in Russia and with Grand Metropolitan in Ireland and Central Europe. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants and holds a Diploma in Applied Finance from the Irish Management Institute.
Martin Murphy, HP Ireland
Martin Murphy graduated from Trinity College with an honours degree in Maths and Engineering and later a Masters. As MD of HP in Ireland he is responsible for driving HP’s business growth in the Irish market in recent years. HP Ireland has achieved record growth and is now the largest IT and services provider in the country. Martin Murphy joined the business in 1986; In 1995 he was made Sales Director of the company in Ireland and it made great progress under his leadership. He has steered the company through the Compaq merger and spearheaded many other Global acquisitions. HP is a key driver for innovation and job creation in Ireland, it has already 4,000 employees. Martin Murphy also serves on the Board of Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and The Institute of Directors.
Terence O’Rourke, Enterprise Ireland
Terence O’Rourke was appointed Chairman of Enterprise Ireland on August 1, 2013 by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. He is a Chartered Accountant from Inniskeen, Co Monaghan and was educated at Castleknock College and University College Dublin. Terence started his career with KPMG in 1975, became a partner in 1988 and was Managing Partner KPMG Ireland from 2006 up to his retirement in April 2013. During his time in KPMG Terence worked in Peat Marwick Boston (1979-1981), was Chairman of the Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants (1990-1991), President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (2004-2005) and a member of the Global Board, EMA Board and Global Executive Team of KPMG International (2006-2013). His current directorships include The Irish Times Ltd and the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board. Terence is also a Council member of the Irish Management Institute and the Dublin Theatre Festival and an advisor to Women’s Executive Network.
Tom Moran, Kerry Group
Appointed to the board of the Kerry Group in September 2015, Tom was Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine from 2005 to end of 2014. Throughout his public sector career he held a number of international policy and international trade negotiation leadership roles. Mr Moran also formerly served as Ireland’s Agriculture Attaché to France and to the OECD. He is currently a board member of An Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, and also a non-executive Director of Elivia (France). In May, Moran, who speaks fluent French, received the accolade for promoting a positive
relationship between France and Ireland in the area of agriculture and agrifood business. The ceremony took place in the Residence of France in Dublin.
Dr Charles Handy, University of Oxford
Author & Philosopher
Charles Handy is the internationally renowned broadcaster, writer and business guru. Handy’s main concern is the implication for society, and for individuals, of the dramatic changes which technology, demography and economics are bringing to the workplace and to all our lives. His books on these themes, which he started writing in 1975, have sold over one million copies around the world. Born in Kildare in 1932, the son of an Archdeacon, Charles Handy has worked for Shell International, co-founded the London Business School before serving at Windsor Castle where his work focused particularly on ethics and values in society. He holds honorary Doctorates and Fellowships from thirteen British Universities, most recently from Trinity College, Dublin. He was appointed CBE in 2000 and is well known for his ‘Thought for The Day’ on the BBC’s Radio Today programme.
Jose Lopez, GS1
Until his retirement in September last year, José had been with the Nestlé Group for 34 years, joining them in Vevey, Switzerland as a project engineer. In 1999, he was appointed Managing Director of Nestlé Malaysia Bhd and Head of Region –Malaysia / Singapore. Later, in 2003, he was appointed CEO of Nestlé Japan Group and in 2006, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé Japan Ltd. In 2007 he returned to Switzerland on his appointment as Executive Vice President, Nestlé S.A. and Head of Operations. Current CEO of Nestlé, Paul Bulcke, said of José on his retirement, “One of José Lopez’s greatest achievements was the introduction of our comprehensive efficiency programme, Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE), and, over the years his passion for quality and sustainability, his drive for societal engagement and his interest in people have served our company well…” He received a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Geneva, Switzerland in 1974, and studied an Advanced Management Programme at IMD Lausanne, Switzerland from 1992 to 1998. He is the current Chairman of GS1.
Carlos de Jaureguizar, Heineken Spain
Carlos de Jaureguizar Serrano, a native of Madrid, graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from Madrid Technical College. He holds an MSc in Agricultural Economics and an MSA in Economics from the University of California (Davis), where he later obtained a PhD in Agricultural Economics.
He has held positions in sales and marketing in the Koipe Group and in Europcar. He was Managing Director and CEO of S.A. El Aguila, and Managing Director and CEO of Heineken Spain. from 1994 – 2009. He was Chairman of the Spanish Association of Brewers and S.A. España de Fomento del Lupulo and Ecovidrio, and a member of the Board of Directors of Brandhouse Brewery in South Africa. He was a member of the Delegate Committee of the Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation (FIAB) and a member of the Executive Committee of the CIAA (EU Food Industry Confederation). He is a member of the San Telmo International Institute.
David Frick, Nestlé
Member of the Executive Board
David Frick is a member of the Executive Board of Nestlé, where he is responsible for Corporate Governance, Compliance and Corporate Services. He also acts as the Secretary of the Board of Directors. Over the past few years he has helped Nestlé develop into a leader in corporate governance in its home market and beyond, and he runs the company’s corporate compliance programme. Through his work at the two leading Swiss industry associations, Economiesuisse and SwissHoldings, he played an active part in the ongoing reshaping of Swiss law and corporate governance. He is the Chairman of SwissHoldings and chairs the Legal Commission of Economiesuisse. He is also on the Regulatory Board of the Swiss Stock Exchange, and on the Legal Commission of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce. He occasionally writes and lectures on compliance and governance topics. Prior to joining Nestlé, he was a member of the Executive Board, Group General Counsel and Head of Legal & Compliance at Credit Suisse Group. He started out as an attorney-at-law with Cravath, Swaine and Moore in New York, where he specialised in corporate and litigation issues. He received a JD degree from Zurich University, and later a Master of Law degree from Harvard Law School. He also holds an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Zurich Bar and the New York Bar.
Tom Mulqueen, DACAER Consulting
Tom Mulqueen is owner/director DACAER Consulting, consulting for the Food and Pharmaceutical Industry. He recently retired as Vice President of Wyeth Nutrition, a wholly owned division of Nestlé Nutrition, from 2004 to 2014, where he had responsibility for Wyeth Nutrition’s global manufacturing network. Tom oversaw steady growth in Wyeth Nutrition’s business from 2004, with sales increasing from € 600m to well over €2.0 bn in 2014. During 5 years based in Singapore, he developed the manufacturing base of Wyeth Nutrition which included significant capacity expansion in several Asian Countries, including the start-up of a major new Infant Formula Manufacturing Plant in Suzhou, China in 2010. Prior to his role with Wyeth Nutrition Tom has had wide management experience in the Infant Formula, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Products businesses including management positions in Ireland and Canada. Tom’s holds a degree in Dairy Science from University College Cork.
Joe Osborne ALP 2017, Godolphin

Joe Osborne is Group Chief Executive for Godolphin. Prior to taking on this role in 2017 he was Managing Director of Godolphin Ireland: a thoroughbred horse breeding company with five studs in Kildare, two in Tipperary and one in Meath. The total Irish operation comprises 4,500 acres and 245 employees. It is part of a global group of companies owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum the ruler of Dubai in United Arab Emirates. In addition to breeding and racing horses Godolphin stands 40 stallions in Europe under the Darley brand and runs several management training programmes including Godolphin Flying Start – the thoroughbred industry’s equivalent of an MBA programme.
Aaron Forde, Aurivo Co Operative Society
Aaron Forde leads the Aurivo management team, charting the direction of the Co Operative with the Board. Working to our strategy, through our four pillars and delivering growth for our Co Operative, Aaron has led the team since 2004 having held leadership roles with the Irish Dairy Board in the UK and Thomas McDonagh in Ireland. He previously worked with Kerry Foods in the UK and Food Industries in Ireland and holds a BSc (Food Business) from University College Cork.
Kevin Lane, Ornua
Kevin was appointed CEO in January 2010 Before joining the IDB, Kevin was Global President and Chief Executive of the Kerry Group’s Flavours Division. He held a number of senior executive positions during his 22 year career within the Kerry Group. For 18 of those years he worked overseas, in markets including the UK, USA, Mexico and Canada, and accumulated extensive experience of the marketing of the Kerry Group portfolio in those arenas. Colin Gordon, Glanbia Consumer Foods
Colin is CEO of Glanbia Consumer Foods – Ireland’s largest Consumer Food company. He holds degrees from Trinity College and University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Marketing Institute. He has extensive experience in FMCG having worked in various leading organisations at senior level for nearly 30 years. He founded, and chaired for 5 years, Bord Bia’s Brand Forum; he is a Board member of Bord Bia’s Consumer Foods Board and that of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. Colin Chairs IBEC’s Food and Drink Industries Ireland (FDII) and was Vice – Chair of the 10 year strategic review of the Prepared Consumer Foods industry. He has worked on a number of Government and non-government Advisory groups and is a Board Member of Concern Worldwide where he chairs their Business and Organisational Development Committee. Colin has also chaired a number of charity committees for fund raising from industry networks.
Julie Sinnamon, Enterprise Ireland
Julie Sinnamon is CEO of Enterprise Ireland, a government agency responsible for the growth of Irish-owned businesses in global markets. Prior to her appointment to CEO in November 2013, Julie held a number of senior public sector positions, spanning a 30 year career in Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland. Julie has considerable experience in a variety of industry sectors, most notably the food sector, where she has worked directly with some of Ireland’s best-known food brands, from their originating idea, right through to globally trading multi-national food businesses. Julie is a member of the Board and Investment Committee of Enterprise Ireland. She has managed Enterprise Ireland’s commercial evaluation division and Enterprise Ireland’s equity portfolio, one of the largest equity portfolios in Europe, in terms of deal flow. In 2015, Julie was appointed to the Investment Committee of the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, part of the National Treasury Management Agency, by the Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan. She has been recently appointment to the National Competitiveness Council. She is also a Board Member of the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition Limited. Julie’s driving ambition is for Irish-owned industry to become a powerhouse of job creation in Ireland, resulting in rising prosperity in towns and cities all across Ireland. In pursuit of this objective, Julie is mobilising all Enterprise Ireland resources and harnessing the power of external stakeholders and partners, into a cohesive effort to build more Irish companies of international scale. Julie is a strong proponent of initiatives that drive diversity and the building of balanced teams in the workplace. She is a champion for women engaging at all levels within both the public and private sector, not as an end in itself, but because of clear evidence of the positive impact of diversity on corporate performance. Mike Webster is the founder and chief executive of Mobacar, a venture capital-backed travel technology company that connects airline passengers and customers of online travel agents to millions of ground transportation options such as car rentals, transfers and chauffeur drive across 176 countries in real time . Mobacar have invested heavily in its Mobacar Decision Neural Analytics (MDNA) Platform which uses advanced predictive analytics and propensity modeling to match the right transport option to the right person at the right price in real time. Mobacar have closed a number of funding rounds backed by Delta Partners and Enterprise Ireland and have recently closed its series A with an investment and strategic partnership with car rental aggregator giant Auto Europe. Mobacar have 50 staff and are based in Kerry, Ireland .
Bernard Fay, UHY International
Bernard Fay is the founder and managing partner of UHY Fay & Co. He is a registered auditor and solvency practitioner in Spain and has a masters degree in audit and accountancy from the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Madrid. He is on the board of directors of UHY International, and is responsible for the expansion of UHY International in Latin America. He is vice president of the Faculty of Family Owned Business of the San Telmo International Institute, and a founding member and former secretary of the AAEF (Andalusian Association of Family Owned Business). He has frequently delivered speeches at business events, including to SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency) in London at a seminar about property ownership in Spain, to the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in London at a conference on investment in Spain, and at UHY International meetings worldwide on professional topics, marketing and business development.
